The owner’s vision for this tired but stunning late C17 Grade II Listed house with additions from the late 18th and early 19th centuries was to create a light, warm and cosy family home. With the juxtaposition of the original charming thatched cottage alongside the classical proportions of the Georgian addition, inspiration was endless. At the Georgian end of the house we created a theme of relaxed elegance, incorporating the drawing room and hallway on the ground floor and master suite on the first floor. Then we extended into the older section of the house using rich colours and textures to add to the quirky personality of the architecture. Whilst the owners oversaw the main building works, we created the full interior design scheme throughout, from the drawing room, children’s bedrooms to the boot room, floorings, paint colours and lighting. The majority of the rooms were decorated with wallpapers from Nina Campbell and sumptuous fabrics from Colefax & Fowler, Sandersons, Zoffany and Ian Mankin.
